With a career solidly based in Broadcasting, Jim's background could be best described as diverse and extensive. Jim served as Corporate Vice President of one of the nations most admired broadcasting companies, Malrite Communications Group.

At Malrite, Jim was responsible for all aspects of the day to day Operations, Programming, Research and Marketing, of the company's 16 radio markets, coast to coast. Some of Jim's more noteworthy accomplishments at Malrite include heading the Programming team that created New York's (WHTZ- Z-100). This station is well known as the radio station that vaulted from last to first in America's largest market in only 74 days... WEGX (Eagle-106) in Philadelphia rocketed from Market Rank 17th. to "Number #1" in less than a year... KRXY in Denver, completely changed format and its new direction took it from last to overall "Number #1" in six months. While at Malrite, and through his own company "Jim Wood Enterprises - Broadcasting Consultancy" he participated in the development of several of America's most highly respected and highly rated, Country Music stations, KLAC/KZLA Los Angeles, KSAN/KNEW San Francisco and KEEY Minneapolis. Jim later created the Programming platform from which, Rawlco Communications Ltd. launched Toronto's first Country Music "FM" station and the rating results are in...Broadcasting for less than 60 days, "92.5 CISS-FM" went from nonexistent to a (7.2 Share) with a "Cume" audience of 780,000 listeners. These results made the station the World's 3rd most listened too Country Music Radio station behind New York's WYNY and Chicago's WUSN.
    
As the President of the "Jim Wood Enterprises - Syndication Division," he used his knowledge of Programming, Research, Marketing and Management to provide products, services and consultation to nearly 600 of "Emerald Entertainment Network "affiliated radio stations in the United States and Canada.

Jim’s most recent success is New Music Nashville, a one hour weekly radio program celebrating new Country music artist and new music by established artists is the latest creation of Jim Wood Enterprises. New Music Nashville , launched in November of 1997 has already cleared more than 350 of America’s top Country stations and is credited with bringing Wal-Mart, America’s largest retailer, to radio for the first time on a weekly basis.

The association with Wal-Mart initiated a relationship with Anderson Merchandisers, the music distribution company that operates the music departments at more than 2000 of Wal-Mart’s stores across America and is the largest music CD and video retailer in the world. Jim is now Anderson’s official Music/Radio Consultant and is deeply involved on a day to day basis with leaders of the record and radio industries. The relationship with Anderson Merchandisers, Wal-Mart and the records and radio industries has provided a platform to create the latest division of Jim Wood Enterprises, called The Marketing Group. TMG is responsible for what is now listed as the largest radio promotion in history. Late 1998, The Marketing Group designed and implemented a national radio promotion for Country Music Mega-Star, Garth Brooks that included remote broadcasts by more than 500 radio station, all on the same night, at the same time, at hundreds of Wal-Mart stores across America. This promotion was designed to launch Garth’s newest album and as a result, in part, of this promotion, Garth Brooks sold more than one million copies of his new album in a single week setting a new all time sales record. Since then, “The Marketing Group" has orchestrated similar projects for such diverse music groups as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Britney Spears, Brandy, George Strait, George Jones and The Dixie Chicks and Faith Hill.

The Marketing Group
also operates a Loyalty Marketing program of Loyal Fans organizations (Fan Clubs) for Radio Stations. Music Artists, Professional Sports Teams like the Indianapolis Colts and the Professional Bowlers Association and retail businesses like Jack Loekes Theaters in Michigan.

Jim Wood Enterprises jumped feet first into the world of Internet Radio in 1998 by programming a number of radio formats for Imagine Radio. JWE and its associates programmed all of the music, imaging, and promotion for the Internet’s Rock, Classic Rock, and Country formats. The objective was to learn and understand the technology and to define the strategies and techniques that would attract listeners to the network and keeping them coming back for more. Later in the year, Imagine Radio sold to MTV Networks in New York, where it stands today.

At this time, Jim continues to consult a wide variety of companies associated with the entertainment industry. While continuing to consult many different radio music formats, Jim Wood Enterprises - Consultancy Division, has branched into companies involved in Multi Media Marketing, Direct, Database Marketing, Sales, and Management .
